Inconsistent Interpretation

This book I am reading describes the mature believer as one who is “consistently victorious in his life.” At the very same time, earlier in the book he described a mature believer as one who is “pained and frustrated by sin.”

Even he knows his notion of the victorious life is flawed, inconsistent and unrealistic.

The answer is that the victory we have is not fully lived until we are released from the body of this death, when we’ve left this present, evil world. While we’re here, sin and its results make life a real bummer. Deal with it, looking forward to the glorious return of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.

  1. No, no, no, I have never read anything by Joel. The book I am reading is actually by Tony Evans and he does have some good things to say, I just think he’s off on this whole issue.
