It’s Never A Good Thing. . .

when Pat Robertson gets my attention two days in a row. I have always had a problem with “Christian” “types” who have notoriety who get mixed up with politics. It always makes them compromise their Christian beliefs and it just comes out all warped and does no favors for Christianity.

Robertson proved my point yesterday when he advocated assassinating Hugo Chavez, president of Venezuela. From the horse’s mouth:

“You know, I don’t know about this doctrine of assassination, but if he thinks we’re trying to assassinate him, I think that we really ought to go ahead and do it. It’s a whole lot cheaper than starting a war … and I don’t think any oil shipments will stop.”

“We have the ability to take him out, and I think the time has come that we exercise that ability. We don’t need another $200 billion war to get rid of one, you know, strong-arm dictator. It’s a whole lot easier to have some of the covert operatives do the job and then get it over with.”

That’s what Jesus would do. Perhaps Robertson should keep to his diet shakes. At least then his mouth is busy sucking and not talking. I know, Jesus wouldn’t have said that either but I couldn’t help it.
